Growing up with an educator in the house, usually meant that the Bruin Dad and I had overlapping days off. Winter break was usually spent purchasing last minute gifts (Bruin Dad), participating in various recitals/tournaments/play dates (Bruinette) and watching an epic number of Christmas movies. As the years went on, our list was whittled down, largely due to the fact that my school/work schedule wasn't nearly as open, but there are a few movies that simply cannot be missed.

While the Bruin Dad is a good sport about a lot of things, watching kid movies or girly movies with his grown up daughter really isn't high on his priority list, so the movies below are my personal additions to the Christmas Movie List.

Luketic family from the years Anna still at home:
ReplyDeleteMiracle on 34th Street (1947)
Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Santa Clause
and from your list:
A Christmas Story (Ralphie "attended" Uncle Barrett's elementary school in Hammond, IN)
Christmas Vacation (TV edition)
Home Alone Elf (most recent addition--saw it in the theater with our favorite CA family a few years back)
Finally, Barrett considers this a Christmas movie:
Die Hard
Even though I love "It's a Wonderful Life," Barrett is not a huge fan, so that one never got into the rotation.
Hope to watch a few when Anna and Daniel are here for Christmas this year.
